Now Enrolling for Fall Quarter 2011:
2 Day a week Program for 9-12 year olds: Thursdays and Fridays from 10-3pm Beginning Fall 2011
This 2 day a week program is designed for homeschoolers or even unschoolers who want to get out into the world and become local experts on our unique geology, flora, fauna and history while also delving into creative writing and learning how to make useful mathematical calculations while in the field. Students’ sensorial sensitivity will naturally increase along with their observational skills as they learn to discern and appreciate the wonders of the natural world. Learning joyfully and effortlessly unfolds as students actively engage with their environment, savoring the taste of wild rosehips, the scent of a cedar forest, the texture of a 50 million year old fossil, the ethereal spiraling call of a Swainson’s Thrush and the site of a family of beavers spied through binoculars. For more specific examples of the kind of field work we will be engaging in, please see the Previous Adventures page.
Tuition: This two day a week program is $320.00 for four weeks. Fall quarter lasts 12 weeks.
